Pilotlight is growing so we can reach more charities across the UK and, in the longer term, internationally.
In three years' time, we plan to be working with 150 charities a year. To do this we need to raise £1 million.
Our track record
Since 2003 Pilotlight has brokered the equivalent of £5m in business skills and cultivated the talents of over 320 senior business leaders enabling more than 100 charities to improve the lives of over 1.7m people.
Pilotlight is able to demonstrate a real and measurable benefit to society at grassroots level. The results of the Pilotlight process are evaluated and quantified;
Two years after working with Pilotlight, the charities we support:
• Increase the number of people reached by 57%.
• Increase turnover by 54% (average 5.7% per year for the UK charity sector as a whole).
• Improve the services provided to individuals and communities by 60%.
The results of the 2009 Membership Survey reveal:
• 84% of Pilotlighters found their experience with Pilotlight has helped them to become happier and more fulfilled in their day jobs.
• 94% of Pilotlighters say they have refreshed or improved their skills in their work with Pilotlight.
• 17% of Pilotlighters have become trustees as a result of working with Pilotlight, and a further 17% intend to become trustees.
• Since becoming members, Pilotlighters have increased the time they spend volunteering with charities outside their Pilotlight commitment by around 50%.
Our vision
There are over 40,000 small charities in the UK tackling many of the problems facing local communities. If only 10% of these want to grow and replicate their solutions, then 4,000 charities are ready to draw on Pilotlight’s help to reach more people across the country.
Our vision is to make this possible nationally and, in the longer term, internationally. Pilotlight will provide the seed funding for us to reach other locations and to support innovation and excellence in our current ones.
