Help us multiply the Pilotlight effect…

Pilotlight is growing so we can reach more charities across the UK and, in the longer term, internationally.  The Pilotlight Foundation is the fund that will provide the investment for expansion and will support innovation and excellence in our current locations.

In three years’ time, we plan to be working with 150 charities a year, reaching a potential 1.8 million people. We hope the next new Pilotlight will serve charities and businesses in Wales and the West.

Supporters of Pilotlight will be investing in a proven concept that harnesses business skills to enhance the impact of local charities.  Your gift will be leveraged in order to maximise the return over many years. Our experience shows clearly that those charities we help grow their turnover significantly, giving a return on investment in Pilotlight of comfortably over 20% per annum.  Moreover investors will be contributing to the development of this model of skills-giving which will ultimately be replicable worldwide.

Our track record
To date, Pilotlight has provided an equivalent £3.8 million in services to more than 100 charities and social enterprises, improving over 1.2 million lives.
Currently 47 charities in London and Scotland, representing over 400,000 disadvantaged people, are working in partnership with Pilotlight to grow and become sustainable.

Pilotlight charities show an average 22% annual growth as opposed to just 3% for the voluntary sector overall. 94% show significant improvement in key skill areas such as strategic planning, financial management and leadership.

We work with a wide range of charities tackling disadvantage in all its forms, at all levels of society.  These charities work to solve problems affecting children, families and young people; vulnerable adults; those in ill-physical or mental health; or those living with disability.  We help them grow and replicate their solutions. We are trialling a new portfolio addressing environmental issues.

Our vision
This is only the tip of the iceberg. There are over 40,000 small charities in the UK tackling many of the problems facing local communities.  If only 10% of these want to grow and replicate their solutions, then 4,000 charities are ready to draw on Pilotlight’s help to reach more people across the country.

Our vision is to make this possible nationally and, in the longer term, internationally.  The Pilotlight Foundation is the fund that will provide the seed funding for us to reach other locations and to support innovation and excellence in our current ones.
