Grants Writer
£29,000 pro rata
Maternity cover, 21.5 hrs per week, 12 month contract.
Central London, some home working possible.
Pilotlight is a charity that helps other charities grow. We offer a network of talented business professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to support small grassroots organisations, giving them the skills they need to grow and develop. We are looking for an experienced grants writer to help us raise income from grant giving sources.
You will research and identify potential funders to approach, including trusts and foundations, statutory and lottery sources and possibly the EU. You will write bids, manage the application process and report to funders on progress. You will be responsible for developing and managing a pipeline of applications, building relationships with funders and identifying new opportunities. You will need a good understanding of the funding enviroment and bid writing process and a track record in securing funds.

Membership & Business Development Manager
Salary: £30k
Location: Central London
Reports to: National Membership & Business Development Director
Pilotlight London brings together teams of business leaders with the managers of small, innovative charities and social enterprises to coach them through the process of planning for sustainability and growth. The business volunteers, who we call members or Pilotlighters, give three hours a month to meet with the charities, and are also asked to donate to our running costs.
We are looking for a membership & business development manager to recruit new Pilotlighters and manage excellent relationships with them.
With experience in sales or relationship management, you will be confident presenting to directors or senior managers and demonstrate a track record in achieving targets. You will represent Pilotlight’s values of professionalism, quality and integrity.
Responsibilities:
• Identify and attend networking events to meet potential Pilotlighters
• Research potential members
• Manage the recruitment process from initial contact to member induction
• Pitch Pilotlight to directors and senior managers, preparing and making tailored presentations
• Manage relationships with members, seek feedback from members, anticipate needs and concerns, respond promptly to enquiries and requests
• Conduct exit interviews with Pilotlighters
• Work with the project management team in matching new members with appropriate charities
• Work with the team to identify improvements to the recruitment and member management process
• Liaison with the PR manager to provide resources / interviewees for journalists
• Assist with the development of new corporate projects / campaigns, and manage their implementation
• Administration; populate and update our database, manage renewals. Schedule meetings and take notes
• Act as an ambassador for Pilotlight
• Work to meet monthly member recruitment and income targets and ensure timely member donations
• Oversee the monthly reporting to the trustees
