SWACA provides emotional and practical support to women and children / young people, (and soon to include men), living in Sefton, experiencing / affected by domestic abuse. They provide a range of 1:1 and group support services addressing the trauma / impact of domestic abuse, working through a range of issues including emotional resilience, personal safety, support networks, parenting impacts and practical needs. SWACA also provides the only dedicated Refuge for women and children in the borough of Sefton. They provide a dedicated Counselling Service in partnership with another local women’s mental health charity, (SWAN Women’s Centre), and work in partnership with a range of local organisations including local Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector and Public Sector organisations. SWACA also represent the issue of domestic abuse on a range of local decision-making bodies, and provide a range of training offers for local partner organisations
