Blackburn Youth Zone is an independent charity, which opened in 2012, under the umbrella of the OnSide Youth Zones network as public, private and voluntary partnership. Its aim is to improve the life chances of young people in Blackburn and Darwen, helping them to gain increased levels of confidence and self-esteem and raising their aspirations for the future. The Youth Zone has good knowledge of the borough's young people and issues affecting them with an already established membership of 1,800 young people and averaging 800 visits a week.
