The NSPCC helps children who have been abused to rebuild their lives. It protects children at risk and finds the best ways of preventing child abuse from happening.

During an eight week period, a team of Morgan Stanley Vice Presidents worked on how to provide NSPCC with a model for expanding their counselling services across London. After extensive research and strategic work, the team’s recommendation will see over 1,700 more children benefitting from NSPCC’s counselling services through a strategic partnership.

As advisors of the programme, we have seen first-hand the quality and depth of work of all the teams and are certain of its long-lasting impact on the organisations and their beneficiaries.

Bruce McCombie, Head of Programmes at Pilotlight and advisor of the winning team explains:

“We have been working on the UK Strategy Challenge for three years, and I feel that every year the bar is raised higher. The sole purpose of this type of initiative is to have a positive impact on society by engaging corporate employees with the wider community. It is inspiring to see the effort put in by the teams of VPs to deliver substantial work to the charities, and the well-deserved recognition they get across the bank.”

These were the other four participating charities:

  1. Centrepoint is the UK’s leading charity for homeless young people, working with 7,800 16-25 year olds a year, helping them to get employment and a home.
  2. Coram is the oldest children’s charity in the UK. Coram Life Education delivers health and wellbeing education to 700,000 children nationwide, providing the skills and knowledge they need to make positive lifestyle choices for years to come.
  3. The Future Leaders Trust is an independent charity with the mission to raise the achievement of children, regardless of background, and to provide them with equal choices and opportunities in life by developing a network of exceptional school leaders.
  4. Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership (THEBP) is the leading education charity that bridges the gap between students and the world of work, to enable students to broaden their horizons and igniting a determination to fulfil their aspirations.
