Pilotlight and The Garfield Weston Foundation are launching the Weston Charity Awards to support small to medium sized charities in the North East of England become more sustainable and reach more people in need. The unique prize includes both financial and strategic planning support.

The awards have been designed to help charities tackle disadvantage, for which the need in the North-East is well documented. The partnership with Pilotlight aims at reaching out to North-East charities, supporting them to think strategically and achieve long term sustainability alongside financial support. Aimed initially at charities in the North East of England, the Awards have the potential to eventually develop and cover six regions across the country.
Charities in the fields of Welfare, Youth or Community are invited to apply to receive a year of strategic planning support and £5,000 unrestricted funding. Following the completion of their 12-month Pilotlight 360 programme –with all expenses covered– one of the six winners will be awarded a further £15,000 unrestricted funding to help achieve their strategy.
