Mencap Liverpool is a small charity working with adults who have mild-moderate learning disability. It's affiliated to but independent from the national charity Mencap.

The majority of its beneficiaries have no formal support and many have little or no support from family or friends.  This leaves people incredibly vulnerable and at risk of falling through the gaps. The charity provides informal advocacy through an outreach service and runs a range of social and fitness activities to help isolated individuals develop confidence and a positive support network. Its befriending programme establishes lasting friendships and its workshops give people the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in areas such as healthy living and money management. Alongside experienced members, it co-delivers learning disability awareness training and easy read services.

It focuses on making a lasting difference to those it works with.
