We asked participants at our “Becoming a Trustee” event to tell us whether they would be interested in a matching service for small charities and senior business people looking for trusteeships.
The response to this, and the many enquiries we have had spontaneously on the subject, suggests that several of our Pilotlighters and friends are interested in becoming trustees, but don’t know how to set about finding the right organisation. Meanwhile our charities are struggling to find good trustees with appropriate skills, and most can’t afford to pay for recruitment.
We are discussing ways in which we can bring Pilotlight’s quality and knowledge of brokering relationships between the charity and business worlds into developing a matching service, and currently talking to possible partners. In the interim, we know that time doesn’t stand still for our charities and the need for good trustees with the right skills is very high – so if you are interested either as a Pilotlight partner charity in finding trustees, or as a business leader looking for the right charity, please let us know and we will aim to make introductions.
