We are delighted that Graham Clempson, European Managing Director at MidOcean Partners, has been awarded a Good Director Honour for his contribution to Social Responsibility and Community Involvement through his work with and support for Pilotlight.  We would like to extend our congratulations and sincere thanks to Graham for his continued support.

Graham was one of our very first Pilotlighters, and since joining has been a source of unfailing support for Pilotlight and its mission.  He is an active Pilotlight Trustee, sponsored the vital creation of our evaluation system, and most recently has become the first Founder Benefactor of the Pilotlight Foundation, enabling the roll out of the Pilotlight model nationally.

Graham says: “I love leverage in business – it’s a great way of driving impact…It costs roughly £3,000-£4,000 a year to put someone in to a charity.  The value of that work is nearer £20,000.  But it generates at least £100,000 worth of extra turnover, or scope.  There’s incredible leverage from our model.”

Graham’s honour celebrates commitment to corporate responsibility extending beyond reporting and PR, and specifically initiatives with a sustainable, measurable impact on a community or sector.

Others honoured in the eight categories included Sir Stuart Rose of Marks & Spencer for environmental leadership.

We would also like to recognise and thank Paul Murray (Pilotlighter, Pilotlight Trustee and Partner of Tangent Industries) and Katy Emck (Director of Fine Cell Work, one of our partner charities) who were nominated for their fantastic work.
