Pilotlight’s mission is to help more charities, help more people, more effectively and, to achieve that, we need to continue growing.
Our goal over the next three years is to help at least 40 per cent more charities and social enterprises, which means we need to attract more senior business people (Pilotlighters) to volunteer as coaches and mentors. Pilotlight grows much faster when people we work with spread the word about us, so we want to thank our Pilotlighters, charity and corporate partners who have told their peers about Pilotlight.
April is referrals month at Pilotlight, so please continue spreading the word about us.
We are proud to share – in advance of our upcoming evaluation report– that thanks to our committed Pilotlighters, we have worked with a total of 391 charities since 2003; and in 2013 alone we gave 75 partner charities high quality mentoring and coaching for free.
Although our work is for our partner charities, the Pilotlight engagement benefits our Pilotlighters as well, by giving them the opportunity to learn about the charity sector and from each other.
I am now in my fifth year as Pilotlighter and I have worked with charities involved with respite care, gun and knife crime, pensioners and most recently young people with mental health issues. Every assignment has been very different and provided me with a great learning experience. In addition it has been extremely rewarding to see the tangible and substantial benefits that the Pilotlight process has had for each charity."
Gary Hale, Pilotlighter
To continue giving charities and social enterprises such high quality support and to help us meet our growth goals, we encourage our Pilotlighters, charity and corporate partners to spread the word about Pilotlight and introduce us by email to one or two of their peers. We’ll take care of the rest.
