The Children’s Foundation exists to improve the health and well-being of children and young people in the north east by making serious stuff fun! They want to ensure that children are loved, respected, given a voice and are heard.  Projects include:

  • Clown Doctors–ensuring vital therapeutic play is received by children experiencing distress and anxiety during their treatment and stay in hospital and hospices.
  • Fuzzy Subjects–mental health and emotional well-being workshops in primary schools using fuzzy puppets
  • Therapeutic Horticulture-establishing gardening projects in secondary schools
  • Nurture Project–Providing a safe space after school for isolated and marginalised young people.
  • Holiday trips and activities & holiday hunger.
  • Couch to 2K–supporting young people through weekly running groups to become more active, less isolated and improve their well-being.
  • Food, Fun, Activity Packs–providing families living in the most deprived wards with food and activity packs each week.
